We run a successful computer
consultancy company based in Sydney, Australia. Since 1990, we have been
closely involved with tradesmen to provide a computer solution to enable them to maintain
a customer database and the ability to easily create quotes, monitor jobs and
track both moneys owed and moneys owing.
Ian Gudgeon -
Computer Consultant
Ian Gudgeon has been a successful
computer consultant for more than 20 years. During this period, he has been
designing and writing computer programs for many companies.
His expertise lies in being able to
supply computer solutions for business problems. This involves identifying
the problems, writing the programs to solve these problems, and giving
technical support to the customers.
Philip Gudgeon
- Master Plumber, Computer Business Analyst, and Software Developer
Philip
Gudgeon spent the first 18 years of his working life as a Master Plumber. He
began his plumbing career working on new building sites. After several
years, he became a team leader and was responsible for a team of plumbers to
complete their various roles in the multi-million dollar building projects.
After working for large companies for
8 years, he left and went into business for himself. Phil started Condor
Plumbing and spent the next 10 years building it up into a successful small
business. The majority of the business was in maintenance and small
constructions.
In 2000, Phil completed a degree in
Computer Science and is currently working as a computer consultant for the
government.
Phil now possesses the unique quality
of having both plumbing skills and computing skills. This is a rare talent
and has been invaluable in the recent developments of IDG-Trade.
IDG-Trade Program
Ian and Phil began writing IDG-Trade
in 1990. Phil was was running his own plumbing business at the time and
there was no software that could help him accurately create his quotes, and
run all the other aspects of his business. This is what encouraged us to write
a computer program to address this problem.
Phil's role has been to help design
the business side of the software, thoroughly test it, and help support the
customers.
Ian's role was to write the software,
test it, and also help support the customers.
